Flash Image Rotator - Trouble Using 2 on 1 Page
Hi. I've tried to use two different instances of the flash image rotator on a single page and have been having the problem of one of them showing the message 'Get the Flash Player to see this player' half the time (while the other displays reliably). Both do display in the end if you refresh the page at least once but I was wondering if anyone could offer any tips so that both will display reliably.

When I have just one instance of either, they appear fine. I have made sure full URLs are in the .xml files and have also tried having two separate/differently named imagerotator.swf's.

Thanks for any help!

You might try only including the line:

<script type="text/javascript" src="https://media.dreamhost.com/ufo.js"></script>

*once* per page, instead of with each code snippet that calls an instance of the rotator. it isn't needed but once per page, and may well cause breakage if used more than once on the page (at least it does for the sister Flash Media Player application).

This is discussed in more detail, with an example, on the DH Wiki Flash Media Player page, and I suspect that is also the issue you are having with the image rotator.

Give that a try and see if it fixes your problem. If it does, someone should probably add that information to the image rotator wiki page also. Wink

I removed the second instance of <script type="text/javascript" src="https://media.dreamhost.com/ufo.js"></script> and it's looking good so far. Thanks very much!

That's great news, and I'm glad you got it working!

Now, off to the wiki to add that to the image rotator page. Wink
