Streaming one live cam
Hi,

The features to set up a quicktime streaming server are a feature of my hosting plan, so i guess i want to at least learn how they are used.
I just want to test one live cam.
Could anybody polease run me through the settup.
What i want to do is be able to give anybody the url to my live cam and they be able to open/watch it in their quicktime player.

If the features are available which they are, why not use them?
And is there a simple program to use to get this live feed to the users.
Thanks in advance.

Although streaming of video and audio is supported, that support does not extend to "live" streams. If you want a live streaming webcam, I recommend Yawcam (which I am using).

Anyone know how to set this up please?
The stream has to be available to users of quicktime over the net.
Thanks

A Simon already pointed out, realtime or "live" streaming is *not* supported on Dreamhost.

"DreamHost does not support live broadcasting of audio or video content at this time. Streaming of QuickTime movie files (.mov) that have been properly prepared and "hinted" for streaming are supported." - excerpted from the DH WIki Article on Quicktime Streaming.
