Joomls:password works, backend doesn't respond
Pardon this, my first post, but I cannot figure how to Google this question and get an answer.

I am developing a Joomla 1.5 site, my second at DreamHost
Today my password works, but I do not get the backend!!

1. I enter the password and hit enter
2. the browser (Chrome) churns its busy icon briefly
3. The busy icon stops moving, but the page doesn't change to the backend.

I try incorrect passwords, and the login page is replaced with one that tells me in red that the password is wrong.

I leave for a while - and come back to a message that the session has timed out.

The front end works flawlessly.

My other Joomla website works OK - front end and backend.

Where do I look to troubleshoot this hangup? Thanks

RE: Joomls:password works, backend doesn't respond
I googled "joomla admin page not working"

(actually I started typing 'joomla admin' into google and picked the google suggestion of "joomla admin page not working")

and found this pretty quick, not sure if it will help, but it sounds like the same symptoms to me.

Is this a problem of not exiting the admin page correctly? I REALLY do not want this problem again.

In any case, many, many thanks. I simply could not drop into the right thread on my own.

Changing the ..._plugins field "published" to "1" did the trick.

I learned a lot - but the Joomla discussions are worrisome, in that so many people have this problem, as well as others that are harder to identify.
