PHP 5.3 beta
I just switched all my domains to use PHP 5.3 and I would like to say thank you on this. I took a peek at the loaded modules and I found a welcome surprise.

PHP 5.3 has suhosin loaded!

For those that don't know. Suhosin is a security module that protects PHP against known and unknown threats for the sake of server security. Basically it is mod_security but for PHP rather than for Apache.

I used to run it with a custom extension build (I used the server provided php binary) but due to other issues (i.e. ram consumption) I discontinued it but rather requested it in the suggestion list.

I do not know if this is due to my suggestion or if it was due to some other fate but I certainly do hope that it stays. Especially since PHP 5.3 has much better ram management now.

RE: PHP 5.3 beta
Yep, we're experimenting with Suhosin for additional security under PHP 5.3, as it can detect and prevent some types of attacks which mod_security can't pick up. So far I haven't heard of any issues with it, so it'll probably be staying.
