WordPress 2.7.1
I installed WordPress in Easy mode b/c it said that updates were done automatically. However, since Feb 10, when WP 2.7.1 became available, I've been looking at the "Upgrade to WordPress 2.7.1!" banner every time I log in to my blog. Do I need to do something to get the update? Or it is just that, after two months, DreamHost has still not posted the update?

Strange.

If you did the easy mode, you can't update anything, it's all done by dreamhost.

You need to activate the "disable wordpress core updates" plugin.Dreamhostapps runs on 2.7 and theres no way you can update to 2.7.1.
If you activate the plugin the banner dissapears.

The problem is not that the banner appears. The problem is that DH has not kept up with the updates. Hiding the notice does not get me the update! :-) The one-click installers page says that DH does the updates. If they are not going to do the updates, then I would do the install in to my space and manage updates myself. But, they should be up front about it. Currently, they are claiming they are going to do the updates, and then not doing them. That's the problem.

Use the Advanced Mode and take control of your WordPress.

You can export your current content and import it into your own userspace without too much hassle Wink

Oh, "*I'm* mister smarty pants. I sit in the front of the class." Fine. I'll go back to playing with paper clips, or something. Angry
