How to contact the DH Sales Department
Hello All,

I want to contact the DH Sales Department by email or telephone. When you click on the contact link on DH website's, rather than opening a contact form, it shows different links and prompts you to press on one of them, if you are an existing customer. Once you do, it sends you to the control panel and assumes you need technical support. If you ignore that, return and say you want to contact the sales department not being an existing customer, it does present you with a form, but one with captcha graphics that you are supposed to enter in the form, without a link to speak out the characters, which makes it totally unaccesible to someone blind like me, who uses a screen reader.

Trying to make a suggestion through the panel is no good either, since it requires you to comment on other suggestions before you can make one.

I am a web developer and programmer, a totally blind Cuban-American living in Northern Florida. I just finished teaching a beginner's course in HTML, CSS, SSI and PHP to a group of Spanish-speaking students from IberoAmerica and from Spain and when they began asking me where they could host their website, I set up a site in Spanish, http://Tranquilamente.com to refer them to DH with a promo code. Enrolling is an involved process in English however, one that requires the captcha code, a google account and lots of patience. Still,, a couple of students managed to get DH accounts.

Others that want DH hosting accounts had difficulties and, without a method of contacting the sales department, I am powerless to help them.

I feel there is a great potential marketing DH to the blind, because the panel is mostly accessible, despite the annoying Java Script. There is potential both in English and Spanish. Even more so in the latter. However, to proceed with these plans, I need a method of contacting, by phone or email, sales or executive personnel of DH, in order to discuss and resolve especial problems as they come up for the blind.

The problems we blind face are simple and of easy solution. I would be willing to do my part in developing better alternative solutions for the blind and the special problems we face, but I need some cooperation from DH. When I cannot contact the sales department on the phone, even on my nickel, it is hard to get things done.

Thank you very much for your post. I finally contacted DH by email at sales@dreamhost.com, after one of my prospective customers had written to them, but I wasn't satisfied with the result of a series of emails that were exchanged between the DH Sales Department, my customer and I. I decided therefore, to give up on the project and move on in search of more fertile ground.

Hello Independent,

Thank you for your post. I clicked on your link and read some horror stories. That hasn't been my experience; I have been mostly satisfied with DH, consider it a good deal for the price.

I however, finally gave up trying to promote DH, because I was not happy at all with an email interchange held between their Sales Department, my prospective customer and I. I will promote another host instead.

As far as attending UNF recently, I must tell you that, although I now live in Fort White, Florida --about 20 miles south of Lake City-- my university years are long past. I attended The American College of Bryn Mawr Pennsylvania, in conjunction with the University of Miami, but graduated over 35 years ago. Moved to Fort White only a little over a year ago.
