Zen Cart

I am trying to install Zen Cart on one of my domains.

I keep getting this error message when trying to install it and I have been trying for the last 10 hours now!

On the Server Settings and I click on continue this is what I get

Service Temporarily Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

Anyone know what this is? And how to correct it?

I already sent a email in to Dreamhost. Anyone got a phone number for them? I am tried of waiting a day or two for a response.

I’m getting the same error with WordPress.

I’ve narrowed it down to when I attempt to edit a WordPress template file to include the string “exec();” and publish it using the WordPress adminsitration utility. [The actual line of code I’m concerned about is

$feed_contents = curl_exec($ch);

but simplifying the case seemed useful.]

In the WordPress forums the suggestion is to check with the host to see if mod_security is turned on (Is that the “extra security” checkbox? I did check that) and then to check with the server folks to see if it could be configured to allow this line of code.

Does that sound reasonable?

From the Zen bulletin board (which may have been the orginal poster here):

  • Disable “extra web security” (Domains > Manage Domains > Edit)
  • Wait a few minutes
  • Finish your install of Zen Cart
  • Go back and enable “extra web security” again.

That works for me and WordPress, too.
