Hi all,
I have a site at http://jvangurp.com (which is a zero length redirect to http://jvangurp.com/wp) running WP 2.1.2 It’s extraordinarily slow to load. When I set it up several months ago using an older release of WP it loaded just fine.
Can anyone steer me in the right direction to troubleshoot this? Keep in mind I’m an unsophisticated user. My knowledge level is quite basic.

Your site doesn’t seem to display anything that would be a resource hog. I suggest you file a support request and see what DreamHost tells you. Maybe someone else sharing a site on your server is slowing things down.

Your site loaded surprisingly quick for me, about 2 seconds to load the page from Australia. As Gene said it could be someone on your server periodically creating load on the server causing your site to load slow.
Thanks folks - I tried to fix the databse and yes it loads fast now, but all the links are kaput - gahhh!!! Will restore later, but I get the feeling it was some kind of db issue. I feel so stupid about these things!
