Wordpress Error

Hi friendly board members,

My Wordpress site, olimedics.com, is not working; upon reaching the home page, this error befells the visitor:

Fatal error: Call to a member function add_rewrite_tag() on a non-object in /home/linizhang/olimedics.com/wp-includes/taxonomy.php on line 289

Any advice would be substantially appreciated,

Oh, and I tentatively short-routed the problem by commenting out lines 289 and 290 in the trouble-ridden file, taxonomy.php (as located above in the error).

Lines 289 and 290 refer to the supposed “non-object”. Here are those two lines I commented out:

// $wp_rewrite->add_rewrite_tag("%$taxonomy%", ‘([^/]+)’, $args[‘query_var’] ? “{$args[‘query_var’]}=” : “taxonomy=$taxonomy&term=”);
// $wp_rewrite->add_permastruct($taxonomy, “{$args[‘rewrite’][‘slug’]}/%$taxonomy%”, $args[‘rewrite’][‘with_front’]);

However, I would like to implement a solution other than commenting out lines since I am hampering a basic Wordpress file in doing so, which might cause other problems down the road.

Any advice would again be deeply appreciated,
