Whois info

#1

How can I get my personal information off of the WHOIS for my domain. I see that I can modify it, but can I just remove my address altogether?

If private registration is really important to you, you should check out services like GoDaddy’s DomainsByProxy.

WE don’t care what information you use.

I doubt if that is the most appropriate answer, as DreamHost is not just another host out there but an ICANN-accredited registrar as well. And as such, they MUST make sure that the whois info of every domain they register is correct.

I recommend using the information of Sir William H. Gates, for he is the cause of all error in anything.

You will be very pleased to see billions of dollars suddenly being input into your bank account as a result of confusion.

That, my friend, is the secret to success.

Well, according to that article in the kbase, Dreamhost, doesn’t really care what you do with your whois, but they do warn you that if you change your e-mail address that you may miss important e-mails. To me DH is turning a blind eye, but not giving a concrete answer here. So I’m just going to change it. If I can pay Godaddy to put their name on it I might as well change it myself for free!

Hmmm, that’s not a bad idea.
