When is ftp a cpanel?

I don’t get it. I am trying to fill out a support ticket for my theme developer and her form won’t accept my ftp log-ons - in an email she says because the log-ons I offered are actually c-panel.

She wants a ftp instead. When all along I thought I was giving her links to ftp.

I’m confused.

So are we.

If your link have panel.dreamhost.com, thats what she doesn’t want, if they have your domain name then she is probably mistaken.

Beyond that you will need to give us more info…

If I were going to give her a link for Fireftp…how would I create that link address? Can you show me an example?

For any ftp client, simply use the domain name as the “host name”.

For “user” go to https://panel.dreamhost.com/index.cgi?tree=domain.manage& and find the domain name, look in the “web hosting” column for that domain and the “user” for that domain will be listed.

There is also a “password” associated with the “user”. If you don’t know that password, there is no way to look it up, but you can change it here: https://panel.dreamhost.com/index.cgi?tree=users.users&
