What is going on with dreamhost?!

I’ve been a customer for a few years… but something really weird is going on. I received an email this morning saying:

"has a balance of $248.75 (including any charges not
due until 2009-01-11), with $228.85 due (since 2008-12-11).

You also have $208.95 past due (owed since 2008-11-11), and if
by 2009-01-11 you do not pay at least the $208.95 part, your
account will be automatically suspended until payment is received."

And I tried to login to the web panel, but it won’t work for me. The page doesn’t come up.

The last email I received was a bill notice saying that I owe $9.95, and that was just two days ago.

I really hope it is resolved.

The charge went through on my card, which comes out of my Checking account.

I am now 240 in the red, and my bank does not “forgive” erroneous charges or overdrafts. They will not refund the Overdraft charges they have ALREADY applied to my bank account because of this, and every day I am over, gets another fee.

My billing was TWICE per month per the email I received.

Sorry if I seem a tad upset. I have to cover the overdraft fees for the error now.

I have been happy with Dreamhost up until this happened. I plan to stick with Dreamhost until given a reason not to. I really hope the refund comes back soon.

I had the same damn problem. I am really hoping the charges don’t go through cause it actually put my account in overdraft. The webpanel doesn’t work for me either, and dreamhoststatus doesn’t work for me as well. I’ve already contacted my bank, but man, it’s enough for me to think about cancelling my account.

Ok what I want to know is since my HD payment is set on auto renew using my paypal debit card. and HD billing says
this.

IMPORTANT WARNING: We CANNOT refund payments made via PayPal no matter what!

So how do I recover the billing error. of which HD charged me $363.13

I for one will be moving to a new hosting company after this. There are no excuses for this kind of mishap!

I think this is to warn those new customers who are going to purchase a plan using PayPal.

The billing error is a different case. I’ll suggest you to contact DH support ASAP. I believe they will either refund or credit the money into your PayPal account.
