webDAV Connection

#1

I’ve created a webDAV folder which I can connect to from home using OSX (10.4.4) If I try to connect to it at work, again using OSX (10.4.4) I get the following error "You cannot connect to this server because it cannot be found on the network."
The strange thing is if I put the webDAV address into Safari I can connect.
I’ve check the firewall at work and we can’t see any denied access.

Has anyone else had this problem??

I have that problem, too, on OS X 10.4.4, but only on some directories that I’ve recently created. Some other ones that I created a while back still work perfectly. I guess it’s back to FTP for me.

#3

I’ve not managed to fix the problem yet but I found this bit of software:
http://www.webdav.org/goliath/
That allows me to connect via webDAV at work.

FWIW, I’m getting the same problem in 10.4.6. And XP users also seem to be having trouble with it.

#5

Is there a solution to this??

I’m using OS X 10.4.6 and it says :

“You cannot connect to this server because it cannot be found on the network. Try again later or try a different URL.”

???

Same here, it works within Safari but trying to connect with Finder gives the rather unhelpful error message “you cannot to this server blahblahblah”

I get this error in my logs, do you guys get the same?

webdavd[1574]: network_mount: WebDAV protocol not supported; file: mount.tproj/webdav_network.c; line: 2702
