VPS Ubuntu Upgrade brought my sites down

#1

After ubuntu upgrade massive number of processes are being spawned and server keeps restarting. I keep increasing VPS ram (from 1 G to 4 G) but nothing matters. All my web sites are offline. Ping and FTP work fine. Tons of server errors and process lock errors noted in logs. Worked with first level support for hours only to determine it can’t be easily fixed. Is anyone else having these issues?

Here is a sample of errors:

[Wed Jan 24 11:50:51 2018] [error] [client 207.46.13.97] Premature end of script headers: index.php
[Wed Jan 24 11:50:51 2018] [emerg] [client 207.46.13.97] (22)Invalid argument: mod_fcgid: can’t lock process table in pid 1524
[Wed Jan 24 11:50:51 2018] [error] [client 66.102.6.5] Premature end of script headers: index.php
[Wed Jan 24 11:50:51 2018] [emerg] [client 66.102.6.5] (22)Invalid argument: mod_fcgid: can’t lock process table in pid 11749
[Wed Jan 24 11:53:11 2018] [error] [client 82.113.121.154] Premature end of script headers: index.php
[Wed Jan 24 11:54:11 2018] [error] [client 178.162.221.209] Premature end of script headers: index.php

Support said one of my sites had too much traffic but verified traffic pattern has not changed. Same volume as months ago. I even turned off the site and it still didn’t fix.

Not good!

EDIT: It seems the error with my website is due to ‘iad1-vsqlhost43’ MySQL VPS Downtime see https://www.dreamhoststatus.com/

I am getting the same errors for the past hour or so. I thought it was tied to the current maintenance (https://www.dreamhoststatus.com/), but that seems to only be for DreamPress
