Why yes you are getting the message because a DNS lookup of the hostname is not returning an IP address.

If you just setup the domain itself, it needs time to propagate which might take as long as 48 hrs.

However for example if your domain was http://example.com/ and it “works” but the link goes to http://webmail.example.com/ then contact support.

yea mate…only bought domain roughly 7 hrs ago, domain seems propagated though

What do you mean “seems” ?

In the web panel, under the domain click on “DNS” and then look for an entry “webmail A x.x.x.x”

Then go to http://www.t1shopper.com/tools/traceroute/webtraceroute.shtml and trace the route to webmail.your-domain.com

You should get results where on the list line it shows the IP address to be the same one shown in the web panel. If no results come up, then webmail.your-domain.com has not propagated on the DreamHost nameservers yet - wait another 16 hrs and then contact support if it still doesn’t work.

In the meantime you can go to http://webmail.dreamhost.com/ or https://webmail.dreamhost.com/ to check your mail.

Eh… was the domain eandmproducts.com ? Because ithe webmail is coming up for me: http://webmail.eandmproducts.com/src/login.php

In addition to what Atropos7 said (which is correct n every way!), you could be running up against a situation where even though the domain and webmail sub-domain has propagated, the mailbox is not yet created.

I have no idea why (possibly because mailbox creation is queued and “batch processed”?), but, when creating new mailboxes, it can sometimes take over 24 hours for the mailbox to be functional.

An indication that this is the situation might be if you log-in to webmail.yourdomain.tld and receive an error message that indicates your mail cannot bet displayed.

In every case where this has happened to me, the mailbox does get created eventually - it just seems to be the last thing to go “live”. Good Luck!
