Verified Outages

So an average of about once every 2 days, lately it seems every day in the early morning hours in the West Coast, I unable to get into any of the domains on my account.

I report this and typically get the following:

<<< Outage resolved: We believe the issue to be resolved.
(2006-07-04 02:36:18 PDT, 0 secs ago)
Outage verified: We are actively looking into resolving it.
(2006-07-04 01:24:17 PDT, 1 hour 12 mins ago)
Outage first reported.
(2006-07-04 01:14:21 PDT, 1 hour 21 mins ago)

And then it starts up again.

It this how it’s supposed to be?

I’m experiencing the same thing, it fixes in like 30 minutes but kinda annoying if you’re trying to test something and your page won’t load.

It happened 2 times today; the first ever that it has happened to my site.

No. I’d put a message into support explaning that you’re having ongoing problems with your server and that you need them to check it out and figure out what’s realy going on so it stops. Hopefully they’ll get it stabilized for you, or at least let you know they’re working on it.

It slipped my mind that I had posted about this here. Here’s an update!

I did contact support, and got a reply a couple hours later. I was told that:

<<<
Your server has been experiencing high loads recently. This is causing
all services to lag. The loads are being created by poorly written
scripts that users are running that hog CPU time. We are actively working
with these users to reduce their CPU consumption and everything will be
back to normal soon. I am very sorry for any inconvenience this may have
caused.

The support person, Patrick, offered to move my domains to a "more stable server. " I went ahead with that, and approximately 24 to 36 hours later, I was notified that my account had been moved. That was on the evening of 7/6. Since then, I’ve had no problems. So thank you, again, Patrick!

Patrick has always been extremely helpful when I’ve had reason to speak to the DH team.
