Using Toad to connect to MySQL

I use a program called Toad at work to connect to our Oracle databases, and I discovered recently that all versions of the program are freeware if it’s for personal use. I just installed the MySQL version on my machine at home, hoping to connect to my database for my site, but can’t do it.

Does anybody know if it’s possible to do this, and how?

Thanks in advance.

You have to set it up so that your IP address is allowed to connect to the DB. By default only Dreamhost servers are allowed to connect, but all you have to do is go into the Panel > Goodies > Mysql and edit the database in question. You should find a box where you see the follow the instructions there and add your ip below dreamhost’s - then you should be able to connect once that takes effect.

Thanks a bunch for your help!
