Using courier maildrop to filter messages

#1

Hi,

I’m trying to use courier maildrop in order to filter my incoming mail. I’ve been using it for quite sometime and I like it better than procmail.

Now, since I didn’t find maildrop within my host, I compiled it as I explain in http://wiki.dreamhost.com/Maildrop

I can deliver a message manually within the shell. However, when I try to deliver automatically, I get a bounce.

For automatic delivery I create the .forward.postfix file like this:

"|/home/inst/run/bin/maildrop -d" But I get a bounce stating:

<USER@SERVERmail-mx2.dreamhost.com> (expanded from <MAIL@DOMAIN>): Command died with status 1: "/home/inst/run/bin/maildrop -d" (I tried also -d , but the results were the same)

It seems like a permissions problem, but I can’t think of anything else… I guess maildrop runs as the unix user, so it should work… just in case, I added –enable-trusted-users=102 (102 is the userid of postfix, but I keep getting the same error.

What can I be doing wrong?
