URL Redirect

#1

I’d like to set up a redirect of a url from my site, say http://silverdollaroutpost.com/ebay to go to my ebay store http://stores.ebay.com/Silver-Dollar-Outpost_W0QQssPageNameZviQ3asibQ3astoreviewQQtZkm?refid=store

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Easy: just create a file called .htaccess in your root folder and make it contain this line (if the file already exists then simply add this line ot the file):
Redirect /ebay/ http://stores.ebay.com/Silver-Dollar-Outpost_W0QQssPageNameZviQ3asibQ3astoreviewQQtZkm?refid=store

Note that the first bit after “Redirect” is a URL path relative to the root, i.e. “/ebay/” equals “http://silverdollaroutpost.com/ebay”. The second part must be a full URL.

You can create the .htaccess file in Windows Notepad but be careful how it is saved: When you see the SAVE dialog, be sure to enter the filename as “.htaccess” INCLUDING the double quotes – otherwise Notepad will name the file .htaccess.txt and that won’t work.
