Uploading to server

#1

Hi!
I’m a new Dreamhost customer, and being a simple soul I’m slightly confused when I read the instructions for uploading my sites to the server.

My goal is to upload a site to Dreamhost, change the DNS to the new location, and then have a seamless transfer from my old host to Dreamhost.

My setup now is:
The local site (let’s call it ABC.com) is living on my hard disk (C:).
The main C: file is called ABC.com , and it contain these sub-folders:
_private
public_html (This is where all the uploadable files are)
Sub-folders to “public_html” are “images”, Templates" etc.

I use Dreamweaver 8 for editing the files and uploading to the server.

Should I open the local ABC.com site on C: in Dreamweaver and then move all the files I want published from “public_html” to the top (ABC.com) folder before uploading to the Dreamhost server.

Or what?

Any help appreciated, especially is you are able to walk me through the whole process in your forum answer.

Thanks and regards from

Unnecessary. Simply copy the contents of c:\ABS.com\public_html in to the DH servers ABC.com folder.
