Uploading image files

#1

Hello. I am a real nube and am trying to figure out how to upload a splash page to my website. The site is fully hosted already, and I have access to the WebFTP directory. I am just unsure of how to proceed, and don’t want to screw anything up! I have a .png file I would like to upload and then embed a contact email link into. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I would highly recommend you look for some good html tutorials for beginners.

awesome–do you have any particular resources you could recommend?

you could just google for html for beginners but http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp is a good place to start. http://www.davesite.com/webstation/html/ that seems to be a good one too. there are tons of tutorials out there on the web.

Hello trandnash, I am in the same place as you, 4 years later! Did you find an easy solution to upload a .png image and have it as the background for a splash/landing page? I have no idea where to upload it via the FTP.

Thanks!

If you are not familiar with HTML codes, I’ll suggest you to get a developer to help you.

If you don’t want to screw your site and really want to do it yourself, download the site to your local machine and test your codes.

To embed a png as backgroun, google “CSS background image” and there will be tons of examples.
