Uploading 400mb file

#1

Hello,

I need to upload a .zip file of some photos for a client, and it’s about 400MB. Is there anyway to upload a file this large?

Thanks

You can ftp it using a regular ftp client. There are a couple of other ways as well.

BTW, I can’t stop myself from recommending SFTP because of the additional security.

Isn’t there a 8MB limit?

There’s an 8MB limit using WebFTP and any default PHP upload implementation.

There is some other file size limit, but I can’t remember what it is, nor did I successfully find it in search.

There’s also a thread out there on unzipping very large files at DreamHost that you should read.

Apache has something like a 2 gig limit. I’ve not heard of someone running into an FTP (or SFTP) file size limit.
