Upload Limit Too Small for Theme, Solutions Not Working

#1

I cannot upload my purchased Wordpress theme because my Dreampress upload limit is too small. My theme’s file size is 24mb.

I have read the Wiki all about increasing via the php.ini file. Some of it makes sense, but it mostly doesn’t. I am clueless when it comes to php, and I’m hoping someone can explain to me how to do this in easy-to-understand instructions.

I have attempted to install the nifty auto installer (http://sxi.sabrextreme.com/dh-phpini), and I have it installed in a random folder, and it has successfully generated a cgi-bin folder with a php.ini file.

Within the generated php.ini file, I have changed these lines to “1000M” instead of the default “20M” - based on discussions I have read so far:

; Maximum size of POST data that PHP will accept.
post_max_size = 20M

and

; Maximum allowed size for uploaded files.
upload_max_filesize = 20M

My theme is still too big to be uploaded. Can anyone please help me? I’m afraid to do anything more because I don’t want to cause permanent damage, and I am completely lost.

Thank you so much in advance!

Don’t use that installer. It’s outdated, and no longer works correctly.

To set up a custom php.ini, follow the directions at:
