Upload filesize limit

#1

Hi, I would like to be able to let users upload files to 50 meg in size. Is there a way which I can get the php.ini changed to allow this. Currently the size seems to be set at 7 meg.

Thanks

yes, you can install php for your self so you can edi the ini file. See the wiki for instructions. Be sure to sercure your form, that could easly be abused with a high limit.

so you just run this script?

http://wiki.dreamhost.com/index.php/PHP5_installscript

How will that affect the current sites on my account?

I have only installed php using XAMPP before.

I just tried this

http://wiki.dreamhost.com/index.php/PHP.ini

Im assuming it worked.

But I do seem to have come to a problem
I was going to download the ini file to see if it worked but when I try it says there is a critical error on transfer and I can not get to it. Does this mean it is ok or corrupt?

I also get this error when I try to use the .htaccess file

Not Found
The requested URL /cgi-bin/php.cgi/index.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

jasjen1, I was wondering how you got it to work. When I try the solution I get

Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access /cgi-bin/php.cgi/index.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
