Upgrade Free Secure Hosting from SHA1 to SHA265

I use the free self-signed secure certificates (SSL/TLS) offered through the DH admin panel. Google Chrome has deprecated the use of SHA-1 encryption and won’t show green secure bars for sites that use it anymore, due to security vulnerabilities. DH free secure certs use SHA-1.

Would you consider upgrading it to SHA256?

Belated response:

We’ve made some adjustments to the SSL certificate generation process such that new self-signed certificates are using SHA256. If you want to upgrade an existing one to SHA256, you should be able to do that through the panel.

That being said, as these certificates are self-signed, they generally won’t show up as fully valid in Chrome anyway. You’ll need a professionally signed certificate to get a site to show up properly as secure.
