Unlimited Domains Hosted?

#1

I’m very interested in switching to Dreamhost, but I’m curious what the definition of “unlimited domains hosted” means?

I currently own a .com (that I want to switch hosting to DH), but also intend upon purchasing a .org of a different name.

For whatever plan price I choose, if it says “unlimited domains hosted,” will I be able to have BOTH sites hosted for that one price?

Yes, you can host as many domains as you like for the one price.

Also, remember that all the plans come with one free domain registration. This domain remains free for the life of the hosting.

The truth is: “unlimited” domains don’t really mean “unlimited” as in a million. But if you are talking about just a couple of them, I don’t think there would be any problem at all. Hope this helps.

I’m hosting 5 domains XD, soon to be 6 since my other host hasn’t replied to my question in about a week now.

The number of domains is unlimited. The number of sites is limited by the amount of CPU usage each uses. If one uses 40 “CPU minutes” and another uses 30, you can only host one.

It should be pointed out that most sites will not use anywhere near this amount of CPU resources.

Generally, in my experience, most CPU resource problems seem to be related to forum sites, either due to high traffic or misconfigured software.
