Trying To Get This CGI Form To Work

Hi there,

I been trying to make this form to work,

From what I heard I can put the cgi folder wherever I want so the form I made it link like this /formmail/ instead of /cgi-bin/formmail for example,

Just it won’t work :frowning:

What exactly do I have to link it /formmail/ ?

Coz I got this feeling I have to make different the link to link it with the script.

Hope to hear from somebody,

Shaun Meilak

I would like to say also is that, I didn’t feel like using sorry to say the DreamHost form, because if I ever want to move in case with another host, or use different email with the form it won’t leave it,

So hope its okay, I uploaded the form script in my main directory of the website,

The site i’m working on is and its hosted with dreamhost,

Now as soon as I login into the ftp, I go into the folder,

Then I uploaded there the formmail folder

So in other words its like

Now I linked the form to lots of times to /formmail/ and also

But still won’t work :frowning:

For in case I want to use this different script, how should I make it link ?

Please hope to hear from somebody,

Shaun Meilak

So the script won’t work–what is the error message?

You can try it out and see:

Error Message:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Hmm… check upload location, upload mode (upload the script in ASCII mode), and permissions (set script file permission to 755).
All the best -

Currently, it’s giving a 404 Not Found error when it tries to go to the “Thank You” page at . Apparently you haven’t put a page at that location.
