Trouble with rm

#1

I’m attempting to remove a couple of .old directories but whenever I rm -rv I get a prompt saying “want to remove this write protected file?” (or something like that) I say yes and then I get “permission denied.” I tried sudo but I got a message saying I’m not on the list and the incident will be reported. What can I do to remove these directories?

Try rm -rf something.old

That’ll force deletion of everything that you can delete. If it still gives you “permission denied,” then contact Support and tell them which directory you want deleted. Better yet, have them change ownership/permission so you can delete it. That’d probably make them feel better.

That didn’t do it. Guess I’ll contact support.
