SVN, Wordpress and htaccess

I have a domain that has both subversion (installed via the DH control panel) and Wordpress, and they dont play nicely together right now. WP handle all traffic via the .htaccess, which makes it impossible to check in new files to SVN (get a 302). To fix this I am editing the htaccess file to allow traffic to my SVN directory to not be handled by WP, but so far no luck. I keep getting 302s or 301s when I attempt to check in new files.

This is the directory structure for my user:
/ (<- contains my WP install and .htaccess)
/svn (<- contains my subversion files)

This is my htaccess:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^.svn/.$ [NC]
RewriteRule . - [L]

BEGIN WordPress

RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] # END WordPress

I would be very grateful for any ideas how to get past this, it is really frustrating to be stuck in .htaccess hell.
