Subversion is unable to commit files larger than ~ 4MB

#1

I have a couple of Subversion repos that have been running fine for years until the last few days I’ve been unable to commit files larger than about 4MB. Smaller files work fine.

This is the error I get when trying to commit such files.
Transmitting file data .svn: E175002: Commit failed (details follow):
svn: E175002: Unexpected HTTP status 408 ‘Request Time-out’

Checkout and Update seems to work fine.
I also tried making a new Subversion repo on a different domain but got the same issue.

I suspect your subversion process is getting killed by procwatch because it exceeds CPU, RAM or diskIO. The only way to find out for sure is to open a ticket with DreamHost Support and have them look at procwatch logs. Let us know what you find out.

Just to update, I solved the issue.

Turned out Avast Antivirus Web Shield was interfering with TortoiseSVN.
