Subdomain redirects

#1

Is there a smart way to have subname.name.com redirect to name.com/subname without creating a “Subdomain” in the Panel?

The Subdomain setting can simply redirect to whatever “/subname” URL I want, but the Panel gets very cluttered if I have many of these.

Wouldn’t it be neat if .name.com was redirected to name.com/ for all cases where there isn’t a matching subdomain setup?

If I understand what you are trying to do, you could just put an Index.html page there that only contains a URL redirect code. You could then tell people that they are being re-directed or do it seemlessly.

“Try to be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.”

The way DH is set up i don’t believe this can be done… it’d be nice to have the *.site.com redirect to www.site.com though… [ot]but then people could have unlimited subdomains using some fancy .htaccess things… tis easy to do.[/ot]
