Strange emails

I’ve started getting the following email on a fairly regular basis. There’s no sender or recipient and the email just says…

“This is only a pop e-mail account.”

The message source is as follows:

From - Sun Sep 05 15:40:49 2004
X-UIDL: UID1568-1088660916
X-Mozilla-Status: 0001
X-Mozilla-Status2: 00000000

This is only a pop e-mail account.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what this is? Could it be someone trying to login to a email only user on my account?

Cheers,
Mike

Do you have any procmail recipes (including Razor) that pipe to something? Could be the lack of
SHELL=/bin/sh
in the .procmailrc

I’ve checked and can’t spot anything obvious. So I’ve deleted all my spam filters, etc via the control panel. Emailing myself on all my accounts doesn’t recreate the problem, I guess it should if there’s a problem with my .procmailrc setup.

Haven’t had any today so fingers crossed.

Indeed, the SHELL=/bin/sh fixed the problem for me too, for my fancy .procmailrc. Without it pipes would break…

(Won’t encounter the problem when testing only with local mails on one’s own shell account.)
