one of my sites keeps getting hits, daily from various ip addresses with hundreds and hundreds of strings of code…
66.215.46.69 - - [24/Jun/2004:01:29:46 -0700] "SEARCH /\x90\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02

it just keeps going and going…

Does anyone know what this is?

Some sort of IIS (Windows webserver software) exploit… we’re not vulnerable to it, so it’s mostly just an annoyance.

There’s something you can do to not log these lines - we were looking into setting that up at one point.
