Sorry, REALLY new, Website counter?

#1

Hi
It is obvious you guys really know what you are doing but I don’t! I tried to install a free website counter on my page but when it published only the code showed up. Does Dreamhost have a counter as the Stats page is a little confusing to me. Or does anyone know a quick easy way to get a counter up on my page. I use Cutesite builder as my webpage publisher

There is one that is really simple to use (and nice looking, as such things go) available for you at http://counter.dreamhost.com/.

This is so cool. What other hidden goodies do you have?

http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting-features.html#counters

It only seems hidden because nobody RTFM.

Well, they are DH “goodies”, not mine, but there is also the handy-dandy formmailer at http://formmail.dreamhost.com that is overlooked by many.

Are you talking about that bottle of Wild Turkey Rare Breed that I have hidden away?

Now we’re talking!

I would like to hide the counter (like white chars on white background) so only people who know where it is, can mark it with the mouse and see the number. Any hints?
And where exactly is the *.dat file? just in case one wants to delete it after use or so.
thanx and regards, Claudia

if you absolutely position it, you can use the CSS property visibility:hidden; to hide it

here’s the actual code:

anything in here will be hidden

Okay, thanks, and now where is the number resp. where can I see the counter now?
