Simple Cron Job Question

#1

I want to use the “Cron Jobs” area of the Dreamhost Admin Panel to run a Drupal “cron.php” file at the root level of my site once an hour.

What is the exact code I need to place in the “Command to run” field?

Note: This page isn’t helpful:
http://www.unixgeeks.org/security/newbie/unix/cron-1.html

This page contains wrong information:
http://wiki.dreamhost.com/Cron

Again, I simply want to use the Dreamhost interface rather than tinkering with a “cron tab file”… whatever that is.

Here’s the file on my site:
http://maple.crazyfasthost.com/cron.php

Please help me make sense of this.

Many thanks!

Since your script is web-accessible I’m going to assume it is CGI instead of CLI.

For CGI scripts, they need to be fetched from the web server.

So your command would look like

/usr/bin/wget http://maple.crazyfasthost.com/cron.php
