.shtml and SSI?

I set up a page using SSI for my nav bars and I remember reading somewhere on the site that you didn’t have to use “.shtml” which is a big deal for me since I have php in many pages.

Basscially, I want to have these .php extensions on some pages and still have the SSI menus work.

So what’s the solution here?

Sorry but I just can’t find the documentation for it.

if you want to include another file from a php file instead of an shtml file, just use php’s include function: http://php.net/include

you can even include the same file from a php file using php includes as you include from an shtml file using ssi includes. the only problem would be if the file you’re including uses any ssi, as that won’t get processed when you use php includes.
