Setting Up email account Windows Mail

#1

I’ve set up an email account in Windows Mail (Vista) for my new domain, “mydomain.net.”

I can send an email to myself (from user@mydomain.net to user@mydomain.net) and that works OK. I can send and receive.

I can send an email from outside the domain to myself (user@anotherdomain.net to user@mydomain.net) and that works OK.

But when I try to reply to it from user@mydomain.net, I get an error:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject ‘Re: The real Test’, Account: ‘mail.mydomain.net’, Server: ‘mail.mydomain.net’, Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10013, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Suggestions? Something to do with login security?

port 25 maybe blocked by your ISP try 587 instead.

For reference, Outlook error 0x800CCC0E is “connection to server failed”. LakeRat’s suggestion that you try port 587 is a good one.
