Setting local php values with pcgi

software development

Hi All,

.htaccess directives controlling local PHP values don’t seem to stick when using the AddType php-cgi .php trick.

My .htaccess looks like:
# .htaccess file

Enable SSI, PHP as PCGI, includes, indexing

AddType text/html .shtml
AddHandler server-parsed .shtml
AddType php-cgi .php # php local values stick without this set
Options FollowSymLinks Includes Indexes
ErrorDocument 404 /error/missing.php
ErrorDocument 403 /error/forbidden.php
ErrorDocument 401 /error/fail_auth.php
ErrorDocument 500 /error/server.php

PHP Values

php_value register_globals 0
php_value include_path ".:/usr/local/lib/php:~/php"
php_value asp_tags 0
php_value default_charset "iso-8859-1"
php_value output_buffering "On"
php_value output_handler “ob_gzhandler”
Has anyone had success changing the local values in PHP using the default PHP-CGI module?

phpinfo() output shows no change to the local values.

Basically, I’m looking to extend the include path for using my own PEAR distribution dumped in my home directory. The PHP local values work as expected when not using AddType php-cgi .php.
