Session problem

software development

#1

Hi,

I’ve just opened an account here at Dreamhost, and moved my site, from an ISP that I’ve previously used. But one part of the scrpits that work with sessions, causes me problems … The Warning I’m recieving is :

session_start(): open(/tmp/sess_3823b524efa1d0746a64ec906c04c8f6, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13) in … and the location of the php script that tried to start the session.

It seems that the system prevents me from opening and writing to this folder (tmp), where session data is being stored. Those same scripts worked flawlesly on my previous ISP … Does anyone have any idea, how to solve this problem ???

You should normally be able to write to /tmp. Contact support and they’ll be able to fix it for you.

It appears, that the problem has been fixed, during the night … Maybe, writing to /tmp wasn’t activated (as a functionality), since the account, was only 24 hours old … I dunno, but the important thing is that it’s functioning now … Thanks for the help.
