Sent Items not showing in IMAP

I have a customer that is hosted by dreamhost…recently they are switching to an imap configuration in their outlook…however they are not seeing the Sent items in their outlook configuration and when sending an email …I get an error eluding to the fact server doesn’t allow items to be saved to sent items folder ( 0x80040119). Anyone came across this before?

Tell them to check the IMAP account settings.

  • Ensure the Root folder is set to Inbox.
  • Uncheck Do not save copies of sent items if such an option exists.

Note that they may have to select More or Advanced (or similar) in the IMAP account settings to see all options.
