Script runs fine, but not in a cronjob

i don’t understand this. i havea very simple script that runs fine, but when i add it to my cronjob, i keep getting this email:

/bin/sh: line 1: /home/username/bashsoftware.net/filename.php: Permission denied

i chmodded it to 744, if that even matters.

what can cause that? i’ve never had a problem like this before.

hmm, now i’m getting emails with the output of the script:
X-Powered-By: PHP/4.4.4

Content-type: text/html

still closed…
what gives?

You should see if it’s not the problem with the line in crontab, run a crontab -e to see what’s the line it’s executing, it might have a wrong path to php or to the file.

Funhouse - everything you need for a good laugh

thanks for th reply, but i know that’s the correct path to the file. and it does execute the file now, but for some reason it sends me an email every time.

You have to tell the cron not to email you, as emailing is the default option.
