Samba

#1

Hi all. I’m trying to get SAMBA to work. I’m running W2K behind a firewall. I’m logged into a domain. I’ve got ports 137, 138, 139, and 445 open. I’m using the url \machine.dreamhost.com\username where username is the user with SAMBA enabled on the machine listed in the panel. I get an error that the network path could not be found. I can’t figure out what I’m missing. Anybody have any ideas?

Make sure you can telnet to port 139 on our machine…there’s really not much to it.

If you’re getting any sort of network error your firewall is probably going to be the culprit.
