Samba: unable to find network path

#1

Hi. I am trying to get samba going and am having zero luck. I have activated it on my account per the KB article. On my W2K box I try to set up the mapping to a network drive using

\strange.dreamhost.com\ckolar

The problem is that after a few seconds I get the error message that “the network path could not be found.”

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I am working off of a private IP address behind a cable router/firewall in case that is significant. If it is a matter of opening up some ports I would apprecaite that bit of information.

Thanks in advance everyone.

I had issues with this because my cable ISP blocks port 139 (among others). You might want to have alook at that.
