When trying to connect to the samba share: crack.dreamhost.com/user, I get the error “the format of the specified network name is invalid”. NetBIOS is enabled over TCP/IP - any suggestions?
We still have samba blocked at our border due to some issues we were seeing a few weeks ago. We haven’t had a lot of complaints about it being disabled, so we’re actually partially considering leaving it disabled for good. I’ll talk to our team, but we should be able to re-enable it pretty soon. In the meantime, you’re stuck using some other method of file transfer.
I see. Thanks for the prompt response. I understand some of the security concerns over having the samba share, but I just signed up for the service yesterday and the samba access was one of the bells and whistles that appealed to me. anyways, hopefully the issues can be resolved soon. Thanks.
