Running a daemon

Hi. I wanted to run a calendar server (rainlendar) on my account. It uses very few resources (as it only syncs my work, lab, and home computers). I have a unique IP address. It seems to run (in daemon mode), and then it dies after 15 min. What do I need to do to run it?

Unfortunately, on normal shared accounts, we’re not allowed to run persistent processes. These processes are killed after a while.

Persistent processes are allowed on DreamHost PS accounts, but that would be an extra $15 a month at a minimum. (I’ll say that I’m very happy with mine)

Is there a way it could run periodically as a cron job instead of persistently as a daemon? (I have to admit that I didn’t look up anything at all about how it works, so I don’t know if that makes sense)
