Just the other day my ruby on rails app (http://budget.completeapathy.com) switched from development mode to production, and is throwing errors because there are no tables in my development database. This is fine because I am supposed to be in development intil the end of this week. The reason for this post is in my eviroment.rb file, it states:
The environment your application is currently running. Don’t set
this here; put it in your webserver’s configuration as the RAILS_ENV
environment variable instead.
See config/environments/*.rb for environment-specific configuration.
RAILS_ENV = ENV[‘RAILS_ENV’] || ‘development’
did the webservers config file get set to prod, causing all rails apps on the server to fall into producation mode? if this is the case this could cause issues for more sites than mine, potientialy.
