Rewriting /stats/ URLs with .htaccess

design

#1

Has there been a change to the global httpd config that prevents the rewriting of /stats/ requests? The following rule in my root .htaccess seems to have no effect:
RewriteRule ^stats/$ http://www.google.org/? [R,L]

However, this very similar rule works fine:
RewriteRule ^stat/$ http://www.google.org/? [R,L]

Did DH add something that prevents us from hiding the /stats/ directory to eliminate the problems people were having with accessing Statistics?

I don’t think so. I’ll suggest you to contact DH support.

Already did. They wouldn’t help me write rewrite rules, and didn’t seem to understand my question. Since then, I just worked around the problem by enabling stats and password protecting them, but it’s unfortunate that I had to do it that way.
