Relay Access Denied

#1

So I’ve already tried reading through the other threads about the relay access denied server, but they either left me confused or seemed to be talking about a different basic problem.

Right now I have a dreamhost account with a subdomain (sub.domain.com) on which I have based my email account (catch-all@sub.domain.com) and I have a friend running a server (friend.com)which is currently using his mail exchange servers to bounce everything @sub.friend.com over to sub.domain.com. Hope that makes sense.

However, anything you send to @sub.friend.com gets bounced back with a Relay Access Denied error. What confuses me a bit is that it is getting bounced back by @jankymail-a2.g.dreamhost.com which makes me think that everything is fine over at sub.friend.com and it is something wrong on at sub.domain.com.

Any thoughts? Do I need to make some changes to Postfix settings? Can I even make changes to Postfix settings?

Thanks for the help in advance.
