Redirects/Remaps

#1

I dont even know lol, Ill explain what im trying to do and hope one of you can help

.com/free-flash-games/ (is the fake directory)
and its pointing to the PHYSICAL file
.com/games/flash/play.php

Im using a Rewriterule which works perfect, except. When a user goes to the page using the fake, The real one shows up in the address bar.

I know what im thinking of is possible because i see countless sites do it, and if Rewriterule isnt how to do it can someone please tell me how its done?

Show your RewriteRule and RewriteCond from .htaccess

(im no htaccess expert btw lol)

RewriteCond %{http_host} ^esemdesign.com
RewriteRule ^free-flash-games/(.*) http://www.esemdesign.com/games/flash/play.php?game=$1 [R=301,L]

It redirects perfect, but i really want the URL bar to stay the same, So to the end user it looks like their at www.esemdesign.com/free-flash-games/hapland (valid url by the way, u can go to that and see how it is working currently)

Well, you could do it using Dreamhost’s mirroring function or, depending on how the site is written, by just using either symbolic links in the filesystem or by setting a different web home.

I’m sure someone else will be able to come up with a better solution, though!

(I know there’s a frames solution, but I’m intentionally not mentioning it)

Ok, i got it working EXACTLY how i want it with the code below

“RewriteRule free-flash-games/(.*) games/flash/play.php?game=$1”

However, I’m wondering if any of you know if this is Search engine friendly?
