Quotemarks Missing in Page Source Code

#1

This is a rather weird encountering.

When I check the page source code of my wordpress site today, I found quotemakrs generally missing for a lot of attributes:

eg:
name=description
rel=stylesheet
rel=nofollow
rel=EditURI
rel=wlwmanifest
rel=index
id=page
class=description

as we know, there should be a pair of quotemarks to include the parameter after the equal mark, say name=“description”.

I don’t find any abnormality on another of my site using the same theme but not hosted on Dreamhost.

If anyone encounters the same problem with me? Is this because of using Mod-Pagespeed?

The double-quotes are not needed in HTML, when the value is a single word (no spaces and stuff).

They might be removed to reduce traffic a little - I don’t know.

It turned out what I suspected was true. After I disabled “Page Speed Optimization” (mod_pagespeed), everything becomes normal.[hr]

Dear Erikjacobsen, I totally agreed with you!
